Physical therapy is the use of movements, massage, stretches, and exercises along with some devices that help return the body to its normal function. These activities help by retraining your body to perform the proper movements that it needs to get back to everyday life. Physical therapy starts off with simple movements and exercises that the injured body can handle and then progress to more difficult activities as the body heals. The exercises can involve just being able to move the injured area or the use of bands, weight, and exercise balls to help the body heal. Sometimes these activities can be painful, you are encouraged to move the injured area, because as you continue with the exercises and movements it will get better. Simple task that were difficult when your injury first occurred will become easier as your body is healing and is becoming stronger. Physical therapy can help make the everyday activities of cooking, cleaning, bathing, dressing and many more easier. You will be shown different body movements and positions that can make those activity less painful as well.
